(This Surah is Makkan, containing 56 verses and 2 sections)
Allah’s Name to commence with, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
74:1. O you who is enveloped in a cloak (i.e., the Prophet Muhammad).
74:2. Stand up and then warn.
74:3. And proclaim the Purity of only your Lord.
74:4. And keep your clothes clean.
74:5. And keep away from the idols.
74:6. And do not do a favour upon anyone in order to receive more (in return).
74:7. And for the sake of your Lord, remain patient.
74:8. So, when the Trumpet will be blown.
74:9. So, that Day is a harsh Day.
74:10. (That Day is) not easy upon the disbelievers.
74:11. Leave him (i.e., Waleed Bin Mugheerah) to Me (to deal with), whom I created (as) single (i.e., without any wealth or sons).
74:12. And gave him enormous wealth.
74:13. And gave him sons (always) present in front (to serve).
74:14. And I made several (beneficial) preparations for him.
74:15. Then he displays greed that I may grant even more.
74:16. Never! (Because) he keeps enmity of Our verses.
74:17. Soon, I will cause him to ascend to Sa’ood; the mountain of fire.
74:18. Indeed, he thought and inwardly decided (to call the Prophet a magician).
74:19. So, curse be upon him (for) how he plotted.
74:20. Curse be upon him again (for) how he plotted.
74:21. Then, he lifted his gaze and looked.
74:22. Then frowned and made his face miserable.
74:23. Then, he turned away and became arrogant.
74:24. And said, “This (i.e., the Qur’aan) is the same magic learnt from the people of the past.”
74:25. “This is nothing but the speech of a human being (i.e., the Prophet Muhammad).”
74:26. I will soon shove him into Hell.
74:27. And what did you come to know what Hell is?
74:28. It leaves no one (who is deserving of punishment) and leaves nothing (unburnt).
74:29. It strips away the skin of a person.
74:30. Above it are nineteen guards.
74:31. And We have not fixed the guards of Hell except angels; and We did not fix this number but to test the disbelievers, in order that the People of the Book may attain certainty, and to increase the faith of the believers, and the People of the Book and the Muslims may not have any doubt, and those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say, “What does Allah mean by this astounding example?” This is how Allah causes to go astray whomever He wills and guides whomsoever He wills, and no one knows the armies of your Lord except Him, and that (i.e., Hell and its attributes, or the verses of the Qur’aan) is not but advice to mankind.
74:32. Yes, certainly! By the oath of the moon.
74:33. And of the night when it departs.
74:34. And of the morning when it spreads light.
74:35. Indeed, Hell is one of the biggest things.
74:36. Warn mankind.
74:37. For the one amongst you who wishes to advance (by doing good deeds) or stay back (because of wrongdoings).
74:38. Every soul is held as security for its own deeds.
74:39. Except those who are on the right side.
74:40. In Gardens. They ask.
74:42. “What took you into Hell?!”
74:43. They said, “We never used to offer Salah.”
74:44. “Nor did we used to feed the needy.”
74:45. “And we used to indulge in evil speculations with evil thinkers.”
74:46. “And we kept belying the Day of justice.”
74:47. “Until death overtook us.”
74:48. So, the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them.
74:49. So, what is the matter with them that they turn their faces away from advice?
74:50. As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys.
74:51. Running away from a lion.
74:52. Rather, each and every person amongst them desires that he should be given open pages in his hands (coming from Allah with a writing which says that Islam is the correct religion, etc.).
74:53. Never! (This will certainly not happen) rather, they do not fear the Hereafter.
74:54. Yes, certainly! Indeed, that (i.e., the Qur’aan) is advice.
74:55. So, whosoever wishes to may take advice from it.
74:56. And what advice will they accept but when Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and forgiving befits only His Glory.
20. (This Surah is Makkan, containing 20 verses and 2 sections)
Allah’s Name to commence with, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
73:1. O you who wraps himself (in a shawl),
73:2. Stand up (for prayer) during the night except for a little.
73:3. Half the night, or even a little less than that.
73:4. Or increase a little on it, and recite the Qur’aan delightfully in slow distinct stages (i.e. each letter of the Qur’aan must be pronounced distinctively and correctly).
73:5. Indeed, We shall soon decree a heavy Word (of commandments) upon you.
73:6. Indeed, getting up in the night (for Salah) is heavier (on the body) and the most appropriate (time) for the words to flow properly.
73:7. Indeed, you have many tasks (to perform) during the day.
73:8. And remember the Name of your Lord; and separating from everyone else, devote yourself solely to Him.
73:9. He is the Lord of the East and the Lord of the West; there is no one worthy of worship except Him, therefore make Him your sole Disposer of matters.
73:10. And be patient with what the disbelievers say, and leave them gracefully.
73:11. And leave those wealthy disbelievers to Me (to deal with), and give them little respite.
73:12. Indeed, We have (for them) heavy leg shackles and a blazing fire.
73:13. And food which chokes, and painful punishment.
73:14. On the Day when the earth and the mountains will tremble, and the mountains will turn into heaps of sand pouring down.
73:15. We have indeed sent a Messenger towards you, that he is a Present Eyewitness over you, the way We sent a Messenger towards Fir’awn.
73:16. However, Fir’awn disobeyed that Messenger, so We seized him with a severe punishment.
73:17. Then how will you save yourselves, if you disbelieve, on a Day that will turn children old?
73:18. Due to its grief, the heaven will burst apart; the promise of Allah is to be fulfilled.
73:19. This (i.e. the Qur’aan) is indeed advice; so, whoever wants to may take the path towards his Lord (through faith and good deeds).
73:20. Indeed, your Lord knows that you stand up (in prayer); sometimes for almost two-thirds of the night, and sometimes half the night or sometimes a third, and also a group along with you (stands up for prayer); and Allah determines (the extent of) the night and the day; He knows that you, O Muslims, will not be able to measure the night, so He has directed His Mercy towards you. From now onwards, recite however much is easy for you from the Qur’aan; He knows that soon some of you will fall ill, and some will travel in the land seeking the benevolence (i.e. sustenance) of Allah, and some will be fighting in the path of Allah; therefore, recite however much of the Qur’aan is easy for you, and keep Salah established and give Zakah, and lend a good loan to Allah; and whatever good you will send ahead for yourselves, you will find it with Allah, better and of a great reward; and seek forgiveness from Allah; indeed, Allah is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

72. SURAH AL-JINN (JINN)
(This Surah is Makkan, containing 28 verses and 2 sections)
Allah’s Name to commence with, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
72:1. Say you (O Beloved), “I have received the revelation that some Jinn attentively listened to my recitation,” so they said (to other Jinn when they went back), “We have heard a wonderful Qur’aan.”
72:2. “That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore believed in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.”
72:3. “And this; that the Glory of our Lord is most exalted, He has neither taken a wife nor a child (for Himself).”
72:4. “And this; that the foolish amongst us used to say (things) concerning Allah — whilst exceeding the limit.”
72:5. “And this; that we thought that men and Jinn would never fabricate a lie against Allah.”
72:6. “And this; that some men amongst humans used to take the refuge of some men amongst Jinn, so it further increased the arrogance (of the community of Jinn).”
72:7. “And this; that they assumed, like you assume, that Allah will never send any Messenger.”
72:8. “And this; that we touched the sky, so we found that it was strongly guarded and filled with the blazing shooting stars.”
72:9. “And this; that previously we sometimes used to sit in some places in the sky to listen (to the conversation of the angels). Then now whoever tries to listen, he finds a blazing fire ready for him in ambush.”
72:10. “And this; that we do not know whether harm is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord has intended goodness for them.”
72:11. “And this; that amongst us some are virtuous and some are of another type; we are split into several (religious) sects.”
72:12. “And this; that we became certain that we will not be able to come out of the control of Allah in the earth, nor can we run and escape from His grip.”
72:13. “And this; that when we heard guidance, we believed in it; so, whosoever believes in his Lord, he has no fear of any loss (in goodness) nor of any increase (in evil).”
72:14. “And this; that some amongst us are Muslims and some are transgressors. So those who have accepted Islam, they have sought the way of goodness.”
72:15. “And as for the unjust, they are the fuel of Hell.”
72:16. And say (O Beloved) that, “I have received this revelation; that if they (i.e., the people) remained upright on the straight path, so We would have definitely given them abundant water.”
72:17. “In order to test them with it. And whoever turns his face away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will put him in an intensifying punishment.”
72:18. “And this; that the Masaajid (Mosques) are for only Allah, therefore do not worship anyone along with Allah.”
72:19. “And this; that when Allah’s bondsman (i.e., the Prophet Muhammad) stood up to worship Him, so the Jinn almost crowded upon him in groups upon groups (in order to listen to the recitation of the Beloved).”
72:20. Say you (O Beloved), “I worship only my Lord (Allah), and I do not ascribe any partner to Him.”
72:21. Say you (O Beloved), “I am not the owner of any harm or benefit for you (on my own accord).”
72:22. Say you (O Beloved), “No one will ever protect me from (the punishment of) Allah (if hypothetically I were to disobey Him), nor will I find refuge except in Him.”
72:23. “I only convey the commands of Allah and His Messages; and whoever disobeys the command of Allah and His Messenger, so indeed for him is the fire of Hell, in which they will remain forever and ever.”
72:24. (These disbelievers will not believe) until the time when they will see what they are promised (i.e., the punishment), so they will now come to know whose helper is weak and who is lesser in terms of number.
72:25. Say you (O Beloved), “I do not know (on my own accord) whether what you are…

Surah Nuh Translation In English
1. Indeed We sent Nooh to his people, [saying]: Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment.
2. He said: O my people, verily I am a clear wamer to you.
3. Worship Allah [alone] and fear Him, and obey me,
4. so that He may forgive some of your sins and give you respite for an appointed term. Verily when the time appointed by Allah comes, no reprieve can be given, if only you knew.
5. Nooh said: My Lord, I have been calling my people night and day,
6. but my call has only driven them further away.
7. Every time I call them, so that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their garments; they are persisting in their disbelief and are too arrogant to follow the truth.
8. Moreover, I have called them openly;
9. I have addressed them in public and spoken to them in private
10. I said: Seek the forgiveness of your Lord, for verily He is Oft- Forgiving;
11. He will send down upon you abundant rain from the sky,
12. and will bestow upon you wealth and offspring, and provide you with gardens and rivers.
13. What is the matter with you, that you do not fear the majesty of Allah,
14. when He has created you in stages?
15. Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens, one above another,
16. and has placed the moon therein as a light [reflected] and has placed the sun as a lamp?
17. Allah has produced you from the earth in a wondrous manner,
18. then He will return you to it, and He will bring you forth once again.
19. Allah has spread out the earth for you,
20. so that you may traverse its spacious paths.
21. Nooh said: My Lord, they have disobeyed me, and have followed those whose wealth and children have only increased them in loss.
22. They have put tremendous effort into plotting and scheming.
23. They said: Do not forsake your gods; do not forsake Wadd, Suwa‘, Yaghooth, Ya’ooq and Nasr.
24. They have led many astray. So do not increase the wrongdoers in anything but destruction.
25. Because of their sins they were drowned and were doomed to suffer the punishment of fire, and they did not find any helpers to protect them from [the punishment of] Allah.
26. Nooh said: My Lord, do not leave on earth a single living soul from among the disbelievers.
27. For if You leave them, they will mislead Your slaves and will beget none but wicked disbelievers.
28. My Lord, forgive me and my parents, and whoever enters my house as a believer, and the believing men and believing women, and do not increase the wrongdoers in anything but ruin.

Surah Maarij which means The Ascending Stairways in English is the 70th chapter of the Qur’an, with 44 verses. The Surah takes its name from the word dhil Ma’arij in the third ayah. The word appears twice in the Quran.
70. SURAH AL-MA’AARIJ (THE
HEIGHTS)
(This Surah is Makkan, containing
44 verses and 2 sections)
Allah’s Name to commence
with, the Most Gracious, the
Most Merciful.
70:1. An asker (i.e. Nadr Bin
Haarith) is (mockingly) asking
for that punishment.
70:2. Which is going to take
place upon the disbelievers; no
one can avert it.
7033. That (punishment) will be from
Allah, the Owner of the heights.
70:4. The angels and _ Jibra’eel
ascend towards His ping
Court, that i
befall the disbelievers on a i
the duration of which is fifty
thousand years (according to the
worldly calculation of time).
70:5. Therefore (O Beloved), be
admirably patient.
70:6. They assume it (i.e. the
punishment) to be far away.
70:7. Whereas, We are seeing
(that its inevitable happening)
is near.
70:8. The Day when the sky will
be like molten silver.
70:9. And the mountains will
become light like wool.
70:10. And no friend will ask
concerning any (of his friends).
70:11. They will be seeing them
(ie. their friends and family);
the criminal will wish if only he
could pay ransom, from the
punishment of that Day, by
offering his sons (as a payment
to get out of the trouble).
70:12. And his wife and his
brother.
70:13. And his (caring) family
member who provided him
shelter (from the hardships in
this world).
70:14, And all those who are on
the earth; then this ransom
might save him (from the
punishment of Allah).
70:15. Never (i.e. nothing will
save him)! That is actually a
Blazing Fire.
70:16. The one which strips off
the skin is calling.
70:17. Him who turned his back
away and turned his face (from.
the truth).
70:18. And accumulated
(wealth) and saved it (without
spending in the path of Allah).
70:19. Indeed, mankind has been
made very impatient, greedy.
70:20. Very anxious when
misfortune reaches him.
70:21. And stingy when good
reaches him.

70:22. Except those who offer
Salah.
70:23. Those who are punctual
with their Salah.
70:24. And those in whose
wealth there is a known right
(i.e. Zakah, Fitrah, etc.).
70:25. For the one who begs; and
for the one who cannot even
beg, so (he) remains deprived.
70:26. And those who believe
the Day of Judgement to be
true.
70:27. And those who are
fearing the punishment of their
Lord.
70:28. Indeed, the punishment
of their Lord is not a thing to be
unafraid of.
70:29. And those who protect
their private parts.
70:30. Except from their wives
or the slave-girls in their
possession, that there is no
criticism on them.
70:31. So, he who desires more
than these two, it is they who
are the transgressors.
70:32. And those who are
mindful of their trusts and their
covenant.
70:33. And those who are firm
upon their testimonies.
70:34. And those who protect
their Salah.
70:35. It is they who will be
honoured in Gardens (of
Paradise).
70:36. So, what is the matter 22
with those disbelievers, they
gaze at you (O Beloved) with
an eager look (to find faults in
you and your religion)?
70:37. From the right and the
left, in numerous groups.
70:38. Does every person
amongst them desire to be
admitted into the Garden of
tranquillity?
70:39. Never! We have indeed
created them from a thing they
know (i.e. from sperm).
70:40. So, I swear an oath by the
Owner of every East and every
West that We are indeed
Powerful.
70:41. To replace (the
disbelievers) with those who
are better than them, and no
one can escape from Us.
70:42. So (O Beloved), leave %
them to indulge in their we)

70:43. The Day when they will
come out of the graves in haste,
as if rushing towards their
(fixed) signposts.
70:44. With lowered eyes,
disgrace overcame them; such
is that Day of theirs which they
had been promised.
69. Surah Al-Haqqah (The Inevitable) (This Surah is Makkan, containing 52 verses and 2 sections)
Allah’s Name to commence with, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
69:1. That Inevitable Occurrence (i.e., the Day of Judgement). 69:2. What is that Inevitable Occurrence? 69:3. And what have you understood about how that Inevitable Occurrence is?
69:4. The (tribes of) Thamood and ‘Aad belied that grief-striking calamity (i.e., the Day of Resurrection). 69:5. So, the (tribe of) Thamood was destroyed by a violent blast of sound. 69:6. And as for the (tribe of) ‘Aad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 69:7. He (Allah) forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days, so (O listener! If you were there), you would have seen those people lying around, like hollow trunks of collapsed date trees. 69:8. So, do you see any survivor amongst them?
69:9. And Fir’awn, and those before him, and (the people of) the dwellings which were overturned had committed a (big) sin. 69:10. So, they disobeyed the Messengers of their Lord; He consequently seized them with an intense grip. 69:11. Indeed, when the water rose beyond the limit (i.e., the flood at the time of the Prophet Nooh), We caused you (O people) to sail in the ship. 69:12. In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the memorising ear may keep it preserved by listening.
69:13. So, when the Trumpet will be blown with a single blow. 69:14. And the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed at once. 69:15. That is the Day when the (great) occurrence will occur. 69:16. And the sky will burst apart, so on that Day, it will be frail. 69:17. And the angels will be standing on its sides; and on that Day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above themselves.
69:18. On that Day, all of you will be brought forth, so no soul amongst you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 69:19. So, whosoever is given his book in his right hand will say, ‘Take (it), read my book of deeds.’ 69:20. ‘I was certain that I will confront my account.’ 69:21. He is therefore in desired tranquillity. 69:22. In a Lofty Garden. 69:23. The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 69:24. ‘Eat and drink with pleasure; the reward of what you sent ahead in the past days.’
69:25. And whoever is given his book of deeds in his left hand will say, ‘Alas! If only my book of deeds was not given to me.’ 69:26. ‘And I would not have known what my account is.’ 69:27. ‘Alas! If only death had put an end (to me).’ 69:28. ‘My wealth did not benefit me in the least.’ 69:29. ‘All my power has gone (from me).’ 69:30. (It will be said) ‘Seize him, and shackle him.’ 69:31. ‘Then shove him into the Blazing Fire.’ 69:32. ‘Then stitch him in a chain, the length of which is seventy forearms.’ 69:33. ‘Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Great.’ 69:34. ‘And did not motivate feeding the needy.’ 69:35. ‘So, this Day, he does not have any friend here.’ 69:36. ‘Nor any food except the pus (discharged) from the dwellers of Hell.’ 69:37. ‘No one will eat it except the criminals.’
69:38. So, I swear an oath by those things which you see. 69:39. And which you do not see. 69:40. Indeed, this Qur’an is the Speech (of Allah) with a revered Messenger. 69:41. And it is not the speech of any poet; how little do you believe. 69:42. Nor is it the speech of any soothsayer; how little do you ponder. 69:43. He Who is the Lord of all the worlds has sent down (the Qur’an).
69:44. And if (hypothetically) he (i.e., the Beloved Prophet Muhammad) fabricated just one matter upon Us. 69:45. We would have certainly taken revenge on him with force. 69:46. Then We would have cut off his life-artery (i.e., the Aorta). 69:47. Then no one amongst you would have been his saviour.
69:48. And indeed, this Qur’an is advice for those who fear (Allah). 69:49. And indeed, We know that some amongst you are beliers (of the Qur’an). 69:50. And indeed, it (i.e., the Qur’an) is a (cause of) regret for the disbelievers. 69:51. And indeed, it is certain truth. 69:52. Therefore, O Beloved, glorify the Name of your Lord, the Great.

(This Surah is Makkan, containing 30 verses and 2 sections)
Allah’s Name to commence with, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
67:1. Most Blessed is He in Whose control is the entire Kingdom, and He is Powerful over all things.
67:2. He Who created death and life in order that you may be tested, (as to) whose deed is best amongst you; and only He is the Most Honourable, the Most Forgiving.
67:3. The One Who created the seven heavens one above the other, and what inconsistency do you see in the creation of the Most Gracious? So, lift your gaze and observe, can you see any defectiveness?
67:4. Then lift your gaze again, your gaze will return towards you exhausted, failed.
67:5. And We have indeed adorned the lower heaven with lamps (i.e. stars) and have (also) made them (as) weapons against the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blazing Fire.
67:6. And for those who disbelieved in their Lord, for them is the punishment of Hell; and what an evil outcome.
67:7. When they will be put into it, they will hear (its dreadful) ferocity as it boils.
67:8. It seems that it will explode with extreme rage; whenever a group will be put into it, its guards will ask them, ‘Did a warner not come to you?’
67:9. They will respond, ‘Why not (i.e. certainly)! Indeed, a warner did come to us; we then belied (him) and said, “Allah has not revealed anything (upon you), you are not but in great error.”
67:10. And they will say, ‘Had we listened or understood, we would not have therefore been amongst the dwellers of Hell.’
67:11. Now they acknowledged their sins; therefore, accursed be the people of Hell.
67:12. Indeed, those who fear their Lord without seeing, for them is forgiveness and a great reward.
67:13. And whether you speak softly or with a loud voice, He knows what is within the hearts.
67:14. Does He Who created not know? Only He is the One Who knows of every complexity, Aware (of everything).
67:15. It is He Who made the earth subservient to you; therefore, walk on its paths and eat from the sustenance (bestowed) by Allah; and towards only Him is resurrection.
67:16. Do you feel fearless of Him Who has authority in the heaven that He may cause the earth to swallow you, thereupon it remains trembling (like an earthquake)?
67:17. Or do you feel fearless of Him Who has authority in the heaven that He may send upon you (a storm of) stones? So, now you will come to know how (truthful) was My warning.
67:18. And those before them had indeed (also) belied, so how (dreadful) was My rejection (when I destroyed them)?
67:19. And did they not see the birds above them (sometimes) spreading out and (sometimes) folding their wings? No one except the Most Gracious holds them up (i.e. keeps them airborne); indeed, He sees everything.
67:20. Or which army of yours (is capable of) helping you against the Most Gracious? The disbelievers are in nothing but deception.
67:21. Or who is such that will provide you with sustenance if He withholds His sustenance? Rather, they have become persistent in rebellion and hatred.
67:22. So, is the one who walks with his head hanging down (not seeing from any side) more rightly guided, or the one who walks upright on the Straight Path?
67:23. Say you (O Beloved), ‘It is He Who created you, and created ears, and eyes, and hearts for you; how little you acknowledge (His) right.’
67:24. Say you (O Beloved), ‘It is He Who has scattered you on the earth, and towards only Him will you be raised.’
67:25. And they (mockingly) say, ‘When will this promise (of punishment) come, if you are truthful?’
67:26. Say you (O Beloved), ‘This knowledge is with Allah, and I am purely a clear warner.’
67:27. Then, when they will see it (i.e. the punishment) close by, the faces of the disbelievers will be terrified, and it will be said to them, ‘This is what you were promised.’
67:28. Say you (O Beloved), ‘Have a look! If Allah was to either destroy me and those with me, or have mercy on us, so who is the one that will protect the disbelievers from the painful punishment?’
67:29. Say you (O Beloved), ‘Only He is the Most Gracious; we have believed in Him and relied upon only Him; so, now you will come to know who is in open error.’
67:30. ‘Have a look! If in the earth your water was to be sunk away into the earth, so who is the one that can bring back the water flowing before the eyes?! (Allah, the Lord of all the worlds.)’
Surah Al-Tahreem English Translation & Roman Transliteration
66. Surah Al-Tahreem (The Prohibition) (This Surah is Madani, containing 12 verses and 2 sections)
Allah’s Name to commence with, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
66:1. O Conveyor of the unseen news (i.e., Prophet), why are you making unlawful for yourself that which Allah has made lawful for you? You wish to please (some of your) wives. And Allah is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
66:2. Indeed, Allah has ordained expiation for you for your oaths; and Allah is your Master; and Allah is the All-Knowing, the Wise.
66:3. And when the Prophet (Muhammad) disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his wives, then when she happened to mention it and Allah made it known to the Prophet, so the Prophet told her part of it and held back a part; then when the Prophet informed her about it (i.e., disclosing the secret), she said, ‘Who informed your respected self?!’ He said, ‘The All-Knowing, the All-Aware has informed me.’
66:4. (O) you two wives of the Prophet (Muhammad), if you turn towards Allah with repentance, so your hearts have certainly moved away a little; and if you (two) strengthen each other against him, so Allah is indeed his Helper, and Jibra’eel and the virtuous believers; and after that, the angels are also (his) supporters.
66:5. If he divorces you, it is close that his Lord will give him wives better than you in your place; submissive, believing, obedient, repenting, worshiping, fasting, widows, and virgins.
66:6. O believers! Save yourselves and your families from the Fire, the fuel of which are humans and stones; appointed over it are extremely powerful angels who do not refuse the command of Allah, and they only do what they are commanded.
66:7. (The angels appointed over Hell will say) ‘O disbelievers! Do not make excuses this Day; you will only be recompensed for what you used to do.’
66:8. O believers! Repent to Allah with such repentance that becomes advice for the future; it is close that your Lord may remove your sins and admit you into Gardens beneath which rivers flow on the Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and the believers along with him. Their light will be running ahead of them and (running) on their right; they will submit, ‘O our Lord, complete our light for us, and forgive us; indeed, You have power over all things.’
66:9. O Conveyor of the unseen news (i.e., Prophet), strive against the (unruly) disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them; and their abode is Hell, and what an evil outcome.
66:10. Allah explains the example of the disbelievers: the wife of Nooh and the wife of Loot. They were bound in marriage to two of Our bondsmen deserving Our closeness, then they (i.e., the wives of these Prophets) betrayed them, so they (both) did not benefit from them (i.e., these two Prophets) against (the punishment of) Allah in the least. And it was stated that ‘Both of you women enter Hell along with others who enter (Hell).’
66:11. And Allah explains an example of the Muslims: the wife of Fir’awn. When she prayed, ‘O my Lord! Build a house for me in Your closeness in Paradise, and rescue me from Fir’awn and his actions, and rescue me from the unjust people.’
66:12. And (the example) of Maryam, the daughter of Imraan, who guarded her chastity. We henceforth breathed into her (through Jibra’eel) a spirit from Ourselves, and she testified to the Words of her Lord and His Books and was amongst the obedient.

Surah Talaq Transliteration, Arabic, And English Translation
Surah Talaq which means Divorce in English is the 65th chapter of the Qur’an with 12 verses.
At-Talaq is not only the name of this Surah but also the title of its subject matter, as it contains commandments about Talaq (divorce) itself.
Abdullah ibn Masud, Radiyallahu Anhu reportedly described it as the shorter surah An-Nisa.
The surah also defines the time period of mourning (iddah) to be three menstruation periods. For pre-menarche girls and for post-menopause women – three months. In case of pregnancy, after the delivery of the child.

65. SURAH AL-TALAAQ (THE DIVORCE)
(This Surah is Madani, containing 12 verses and 2 sections)
Allah’s Name to commence with, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
65:1. Yaaa ayyuhan Nabiyyu izaa tallaqtumun nisaaa’a fatalliqoo hunna li’iddatihinna wa ahsul ‘iddah; wattaqul laaha rabbakum; laa tukhrijoohunna min buyootihinna wa laa yakhrujna illaaa any yaatina bifaa hishatim mubaiyinah; wa tilka hudoodul laah; wa many yata’adda hudoodal laahi faqad zalama nafsa; laa tadree la’alla laaha yuhdisu ba’da zaalika amraa.
O (Beloved) Prophet! (Tell the believers) when you people divorce women, so divorce them (when they are in the state of purity, with one divorce) at (the start of) their prescribed period, and keep (an accurate) calculation of their ‘Iddah (i.e., waiting period). And (O Muslims) fear Allah, your Lord. Do not banish them from their (husband’s) homes, nor should they leave themselves during the ‘Iddah period unless they commit any open indecency (i.e., fornication, or theft, etc.). And these are the limits of Allah, and whoever transgresses the limits of Allah has wronged himself. You do not know; maybe Allah will send a new command afterward (so that you may take her back if that was the first or second divorce).
65:2. Fa izaa balaghna ajalahunna fa amsikoohunna bima’roofin aw faarikoo hunna bima’roof; wa ashhidoo zawai ‘adlim minkum wa aqeemush shahaadatalillaah; zaalikum yoo’azu bihee man kaana yu’minu billaahi wal yawmil aakhir; wa many yattaqil laaha yaj’al lahoo makhrajaa.
Hence, when they are about to reach their appointed term (nearing completion of ‘Iddah), hold them back with kindness or separate from them with kindness, and make two credible men amongst you as witnesses, and establish testimony for the sake of Allah. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day is advised with this. Whoever fears Allah, Allah will create for him a way of salvation.
65:3. Wa yarzuqhu min haisu laa yahtasib; wa many yatawakkal ‘alal laahi fahuwa hasbuh; innal laaha baalighu amrih; qad ja’alal laahu likulli shai’in qadr.
And (Allah) will provide him sustenance from where he could not (even) imagine. And whoever relies upon Allah, He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah is to complete His task; indeed, Allah has set a proper measure for all things.
65:4. Wallaaa’ee ya’isna minal mahze min nisaaa’ikum inirtabtum fa’iddatuhunna salaasatu ashhurinw wawal laaa’ee lam yahidn; wa ulatul ahmaali ajaluhunna any yada’na hamlahun; wa many yattaqil laaha yaj’al lahoo min amrihee yusraa.
For those women who have no hope of menstruation, if you have any doubt (about their waiting period), their ‘Iddah is three (lunar) months, and (three lunar months is) also for those who have not yet menstruated. The appointed period for pregnant women is until they deliver their burden (i.e., give birth). Whoever fears Allah, Allah will create ease for him in his affair.
65:5. Zaalika amrul laahi anzalahoo ilaikum; wa many yattaqil laaha yukaffir ‘anhu saiyi aatihee wa yu’zim lahoo ajraa.
This is Allah’s command, which He has sent down to you. Whoever fears Allah, Allah will erase his sins and bestow upon him a great reward.
65:6. Askinoohunna min haisu sakantum min wujdikum wa laa tudaaarroohunna litudaiyiqoo ‘alaihinna; wa in kunna ulaata hamlin fa anfiqoo ‘alaihinna hattaa yada’na hamlahun; fa in arda’na lakum fa aatoohunna ujoorahunna wa atamiroo bainakum bima’roof; wa in ta’aasartum fa satairdi’u lahoo ukhraa.
House the women (in ‘Iddah) where you reside, according to your means, and do not harass them to make it difficult for them. If they are pregnant, give them provision until their child is born. If they suckle the child for you, pay them its due compensation, and consult with each other reasonably. If you mutually find it difficult, another (woman) may be found to suckle the child.
65:7. Liyunfiq zoo sa’atin min sa’atih; wa many qudira ‘alaihi rizquhoo falyunfiq mimmaaa aataahul laah; laa yukalliful laahu nafsan illaa maa aataahaa; sa yaj’alul laahu ba’da ‘usrin yusraa.
The one who is capable should provide according to his means. The one whose sustenance is restricted should give provisions from what Allah has given him. Allah does not burden any soul except according to what He has given it. It is close that Allah, after hardship, will give ease.
65:8. Wa ka ayyim min qaryatin ‘atat ‘amri rabbihaa wa Rusulihee fahaasabnaa haa hisaaban shadeedanw wa ‘azzabnaa haa ‘azaaban nukraa.
Many a town rebelled against the command of their Lord and His Messengers, so We took severe account from them and inflicted upon them a horrible punishment.
65:9. Fazaaqat wabaala amrihaa wa kaana ‘aaqibatu amrihaa khusraa.
They tasted the evil result of their deeds, and the outcome of their deeds was nothing but loss.
65:10. A’addal laahu lahum ‘azaaban shadeedanfattaqul laaha yaaa ulil albaabil lazeena aamanoo; qad anzalal laahu ilaikum zikraa.
Allah has kept ready a severe punishment for them. Therefore, fear Allah, O men of intellect who believe. Indeed, Allah has sent down honor for you.
65:11. Rasoolan yatloo ‘alaikum Aayaatil laahi mubaiyinaati liyukhrijal lazeena aamanoo wa ‘amilus saalihaati mina zulumaat ilan noor; wa many yu’min billaahi wa ya’mal saalihan yudkhilhu jannaatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaaa abadaa; qad ahsanal laahu lahoo rizqaa.
(Allah sent) that Messenger who recites the clear verses of Allah to you so that he may take those who accept faith and do good deeds away from the darkness into the light. Whoever believes in Allah and does good deeds, He will admit him into Gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein forever. Indeed, Allah has kept an excellent sustenance for him.
65:12. Allaahul lazee khalaqa sab’a samaawaatinw wa minal ardi mislahunna yatanazzalul amru baina hunna lita’lamooo annal laaha ‘alaa kulli shai’in qadeerunw wa annal laaha qad ahaata bikulli shai’in ‘ilmaa.
It is Allah Who has created the seven heavens and the same number of earths. The command descends within them so that you may come to know that Allah can do all things and that Allah’s knowledge encompasses everything.
65. SURAH AL-TALAAQ (THE
DIVORCE)
(This Surah is Madani, containing
12 verses and 2 sections)
Allah’s Name to commence

65:1. O (Beloved) Prophet! (Tell
the believers) when you people
divorce women, so divorce them
(when they are in the state of

65:7. The one who is capable

him, he should give provisions
from what Allah has given him;
Allah does not burden any soul

65:9. They therefore tasted the

the outcome of their doing was

65:10. Allah has kept ready a
severe punishment for them,
therefore fear Allah, O men of
intellect! Those who believed;
indeed, Allah has sent down
honour for you.
65:11. (Allah sent) that
