Surah Al-Mujaadila (المجادلة) is the 58th Surah of the Holy Quran, located in Para 28. It is a Medinan Surah with 22 Ayahs. Its name translates to "The Pleading Woman".
Qad sami'al laahu qawlal latee tujaadiluka fee zawjihaa wa tashtakeee ilal laahi wallaahu yasma'u tahaawurakumaa; innal laaha samee'um baseer
Certainly has Allah heard the speech of the one who argues with you, [O Muhammad], concerning her husband and directs her complaint to Allah. And Allah hears your dialogue; indeed, Allah is Hearing and Seeing.
بیشک اللہ نے سنی اس کی بات جو تم سے اپنے شوہر کے معاملہ میں بحث کرتی ہے اور اللہ سے شکایت کرتی ہے، اور اللہ تم دونوں کی گفتگو سن رہا ہے، بیشک اللہ سنتا دیکھتا ہے،
ऐ रसूल जो औरत (ख़ुला) तुमसे अपने शौहर (उस) के बारे में तुमसे झगड़ती और ख़ुदा से गिले शिकवे करती है ख़ुदा ने उसकी बात सुन ली और ख़ुदा तुम दोनों की ग़ुफ्तगू सुन रहा है बेशक ख़ुदा बड़ा सुनने वाला देखने वाला है
Allazeena yuzaahiroona minkum min nisaaa'ihim maa hunnaa ummahaatihim in ummahaatuhum illal laaa'ee waladnahum; wa innaahum la yaqooloona munkaram minal qawli wa zooraa; wa innal laaha la'afuwwun ghafoor
Those who pronounce thihar among you [to separate] from their wives - they are not [consequently] their mothers. Their mothers are none but those who gave birth to them. And indeed, they are saying an objectionable statement and a falsehood. But indeed, Allah is Pardoning and Forgiving.
وہ جو تم میں اپنی بیبیوں کو اپنی ماں کی جگہ کہہ بیٹھتے ہیں وہ ان کی مائیں نہیں ان کی مائیں تو وہی ہیں جن سے وہ پیدا ہیں اور وہ بیشک بری اور نری جھوٹ بات کہتے ہیں اور بیشک اللہ ضرور معاف کرنے والا اور بخشنے والا ہے،
तुम में से जो लोग अपनी बीवियों के साथ ज़हार करते हैं अपनी बीवी को माँ कहते हैं वह कुछ उनकी माएँ नहीं (हो जातीं) उनकी माएँ तो बस वही हैं जो उनको जनती हैं और वह बेशक एक नामाक़ूल और झूठी बात कहते हैं और ख़ुदा बेशक माफ करने वाला और बड़ा बख्शने वाला है
Wallazeena yuzaahiroona min nisaaa'ihim summa ya'oodoona limaa qaaloo fatabreeru raqabatim min qabli any-yatamaaassaa; zaalikum too'azoona bih; wallaahu bimaa ta'maloona khabeer
And those who pronounce thihar from their wives and then [wish to] go back on what they said - then [there must be] the freeing of a slave before they touch one another. That is what you are admonished thereby; and Allah is Acquainted with what you do.
اور وہ جو اپنی بیبیوں کو اپنی ماں کی جگہ کہیں پھر وہی کرنا چاہیں جس پر اتنی بری بات کہہ چکے تو ان پر لازم ہے ایک بردہ آزاد کرنا قبل اس کے کہ ایک دوسرے کو ہاتھ لگائیں یہ ہے جو نصیحت تمہیں کی جاتی ہے، اور اللہ تمہارے کاموں سے خبردار ہے،
और जो लोग अपनी बीवियों से ज़हार कर बैठे फिर अपनी बात वापस लें तो दोनों के हमबिस्तर होने से पहले (कफ्फ़ारे में) एक ग़ुलाम का आज़ाद करना (ज़रूरी) है उसकी तुमको नसीहत की जाती है और तुम जो कुछ भी करते हो (ख़ुदा) उससे आगाह है
Famal lam yajid fa siyaamu shahraini mutataabi'ayni min qabli any-yatamaaassaa famal lam yastati' fa-it'aamu sitteena miskeena; zaalika litu'minoo billaahi wa rasoolih'wa tilka hudoodul laah; wa lilkaafireena 'azaabun aleem
And he who does not find [a slave] - then a fast for two months consecutively before they touch one another; and he who is unable - then the feeding of sixty poor persons. That is for you to believe [completely] in Allah and His Messenger; and those are the limits [set by] Allah. And for the disbelievers is a painful punishment.
پھر جسے بردہ نہ ملے تو لگاتار دو مہینے کے روزے قبل اس کے کہ ایک دوسرے کو ہاتھ لگائیں پھر جس سے روزے بھی نہ ہوسکیں تو ساٹھ مسکینوں کا پیٹ بھرنا یہ اس لیے کہ تم اللہ اور اس کے رسول پر ایمان رکھو اور یہ اللہ کی حدیں ہیں اور کافروں کے لیے دردناک عذاب ہے،
फिर जिसको ग़ुलाम न मिले तो दोनों की मुक़ारबत के क़ब्ल दो महीने के पै दर पै रोज़े रखें और जिसको इसकी भी क़ुदरत न हो साठ मोहताजों को खाना खिलाना फर्ज़ है ये (हुक्म इसलिए है) ताकि तुम ख़ुदा और उसके रसूल की (पैरवी) तसदीक़ करो और ये ख़ुदा की मुक़र्रर हदें हैं और काफ़िरों के लिए दर्दनाक अज़ाब है
Innal lazeena yuhaaaddoonal laaha wa Rasoolahoo kubitoo kamaa kubital lazeena min qablihim; wa qad anzalnaaa aayaatim baiyinaat; wa lilkaa fireena 'azaabum muheen
Indeed, those who oppose Allah and His Messenger are abased as those before them were abased. And We have certainly sent down verses of clear evidence. And for the disbelievers is a humiliating punishment.
بیشک وہ جو مخالفت کرتے ہیں اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی ذلیل کیے گئے جیسے ان سے اگلوں کو ذلت دی گئی اور بیشک ہم نے روشن آیتیں اتاریں اور کافروں کے لیے خواری کا عذاب ہے،
बेशक जो लोग ख़ुदा की और उसके रसूल की मुख़ालेफ़त करते हैं वह (उसी तरह) ज़लील किए जाएँगे जिस तरह उनके पहले लोग किए जा चुके हैं और हम तो अपनी साफ़ और सरीही आयतें नाज़िल कर चुके और काफिरों के लिए ज़लील करने वाला अज़ाब है
On the Day when Allah will resurrect them all and inform them of what they did. Allah had enumerated it, while they forgot it; and Allah is, over all things, Witness.
جس دن اللہ ان سب کو اٹھائے گا پھر انہیں ان کے کو تک جتادے گا اللہ نے انہیں گن رکھا ہے اور وہ بھول گئے اور ہر چیز اللہ کے سامنے ہے،
जिस दिन ख़ुदा उन सबको दोबारा उठाएगा तो उनके आमाल से उनको आगाह कर देगा ये लोग (अगरचे) उनको भूल गये हैं मगर ख़ुदा ने उनको याद रखा है और ख़ुदा तो हर चीज़ का गवाह है
Alam tara annal laaha ya'lamu maa fis samaawaati wa maa fil ardi maa yakoonu min najwaa salaasatin illaa Huwa raabi'uhum wa laa khamsatin illaa huwa saadisuhum wa laaa adnaa min zaalika wa laaa aksara illaa huwa ma'ahum ayna, maa kaanoo summa yunabbi'uhum bimaa 'amiloo yawmal qiyaamah; innal laaha bikulli shai'in aleem
Have you not considered that Allah knows what is in the heavens and what is on the earth? There is in no private conversation three but that He is the fourth of them, nor are there five but that He is the sixth of them - and no less than that and no more except that He is with them [in knowledge] wherever they are. Then He will inform them of what they did, on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed Allah is, of all things, Knowing.
اے سننے والے کیا تو نے نہ دیکھا کہ اللہ جانتا ہے جو کچھ آسمانوں میں ہے اور جو کچھ زمین میں جہاں کہیں تین شخصوں کی سرگوشی ہو تو چوتھا وہ موجود ہے اور پانچ کی تو چھٹا وہ اور نہ اس سے کم اور نہ اس سے زیادہ کی مگر یہ کہ وہ ان کے ساتھ ہے جہاں کہیں ہوں پھر انہیں قیامت کے دن بتادے گا جو کچھ انہوں نے کیا، بیشک اللہ سب کچھ جانتا ہے،
क्या तुमको मालूम नहीं कि जो कुछ आसमानों में है और जो कुछ ज़मीन में है (ग़रज़ सब कुछ) ख़ुदा जानता है जब तीन (आदमियों) का ख़ुफिया मशवेरा होता है तो वह (ख़ुद) उनका ज़रूर चौथा है और जब पाँच का मशवेरा होता है तो वह उनका छठा है और उससे कम हो या ज्यादा और चाहे जहाँ कहीं हो वह उनके साथ ज़रूर होता है फिर जो कुछ वह (दुनिया में) करते रहे क़यामत के दिन उनको उससे आगाह कर देगा बेशक ख़ुदा हर चीज़ से ख़ूब वाक़िफ़ है
Alam tara ilal lazeena nuhoo 'anin najwaa summa ya'oodoona limaa nuhoo 'anhu wa yatanaajawna bil ismi wal'udwaani wa ma'siyatir rasooli wa izaa jaaa'ooka haiyawka bimaa lam yuhai yika bihil laahu wa yaqooloona fee anfusihim law laa yu'azzibunal laahu bimaa naqool; hasbuhum jahannnamu yaslawnahaa fabi'sal maseer
Have you not considered those who were forbidden from private conversation, then they return to that which they were forbidden and converse among themselves about sin and aggression and disobedience to the Messenger? And when they come to you, they greet you with that [word] by which Allah does not greet you and say among themselves, "Why does Allah not punish us for what we say?" Sufficient for them is Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the destination.
کیا تم نے انہیں نہ دیکھا جنہیں بری مشورت سے منع فرمایا گیا تھا پھر وہی کرتے ہیں جس کی ممانعت ہوئی تھی اور آپس میں گناہ اور حد سے بڑھنے اور رسول کی نافرمانی کے مشورے کرتے ہیں اور جب تمہارے حضور حاضر ہوتے ہیں تو ان لفظوں سے تمہیں مجرا کرتے ہیں جو لفظ اللہ نے تمہارے اعزاز میں نہ کہے اور اپنے دلوں میں کہتے ہیں ہمیں اللہ عذاب کیوں نہیں کرتا ہمارے اس کہنے پر انہیں جہنم بس ہے، اس میں دھنسیں گے، تو کیا ہی برا انجام،
क्या तुमने उन लोगों को नहीं देखा जिनको सरगोशियाँ करने से मना किया गया ग़रज़ जिस काम की उनको मुमानिअत की गयी थी उसी को फिर करते हैं और (लुत्फ़ तो ये है कि) गुनाह और (बेजा) ज्यादती और रसूल की नाफरमानी की सरगोशियाँ करते हैं और जब तुम्हारे पास आते हैं तो जिन लफ्ज़ों से ख़ुदा ने भी तुम को सलाम नहीं किया उन लफ्ज़ों से सलाम करते हैं और अपने जी में कहते हैं कि (अगर ये वाक़ई पैग़म्बर हैं तो) जो कुछ हम कहते हैं ख़ुदा हमें उसकी सज़ा क्यों नहीं देता (ऐ रसूल) उनको दोज़ख़ ही (की सज़ा) काफी है जिसमें ये दाख़िल होंगे तो वह (क्या) बुरी जगह है
Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo izaa tanaajaytum falaa tatanaajaw bil ismi wal 'udwaani wa ma'siyatir rasooli wa tanaajaw bil birri wattaqwaa wattaqul laahal lazeee ilaihi tuhsharoon
O you who have believed, when you converse privately, do not converse about sin and aggression and disobedience to the Messenger but converse about righteousness and piety. And fear Allah, to whom you will be gathered.
اے ایمان والو تم جب آپس میں مشورت کرو تو گناہ اور حد سے بڑھنے اور رسول کی نافرمانی کی مشورت نہ کرو اور نیکی اورپرہیزگاری کی مشورت کرو، اور اللہ سے ڈرو جس کی طرف اٹھائے جاؤ گے،
ऐ ईमानदारों जब तुम आपस में सरगोशी करो तो गुनाह और ज्यादती और रसूल की नाफरमानी की सरगोशी न करो बल्कि नेकीकारी और परहेज़गारी की सरगोशी करो और ख़ुदा से डरते रहो जिसके सामने (एक दिन) जमा किए जाओगे
Innaman najwaa minash shaitaani liyahzunal lazeena aamanoo wa laisa bidaaarrihim shai'an illaa bi-iznil laah; wa 'alal laahi falyatawakkalil mu'minoon
Private conversation is only from Satan that he may grieve those who have believed, but he will not harm them at all except by permission of Allah. And upon Allah let the believers rely.
وہ مشورت تو شیطان ہی کی طرف سے ہے اس لیے کہ ایمان والوں کو رنج دے اور وہ اس کا کچھ نہیں بگاڑ سکتا بے حکم خدا کے، اور مسلمانوں کو اللہ ہی پر بھروسہ چاہیے
(बरी बातों की) सरगोशी तो बस एक शैतानी काम है (और इसलिए करते हैं) ताकि ईमानदारों को उससे रंज पहुँचे हालॉकि ख़ुदा की तरफ से आज़ादी दिए बग़ैर सरगोशी उनका कुछ बिगाड़ नहीं सकती और मोमिनीन को तो ख़ुदा ही पर भरोसा रखना चाहिए
O you who have believed, when you are told, "Space yourselves" in assemblies, then make space; Allah will make space for you. And when you are told, "Arise," then arise; Allah will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do.
اے ایمان والو جب تم سے کہا جائے مجلسوں میں جگہ دو تو جگہ دو اللہ تمہیں جگہ دے گا اور جب کہا جائے اٹھ کھڑے ہو تو اٹھ کھڑے ہو اللہ تمہارے ایمان والوں کے اور ان کے جن کو علم دیا گیا درجے بلند فرمائے گا، اور اللہ کو تمہارے کاموں کی خبر ہے،
ऐ ईमानदारों जब तुमसे कहा जाए कि मजलिस में जगह कुशादा करो वह तो कुशादा कर दिया करो ख़ुदा तुमको कुशादगी अता करेगा और जब तुमसे कहा जाए कि उठ खड़े हो तो उठ खड़े हुआ करो जो लोग तुमसे ईमानदार हैं और जिनको इल्म अता हुआ है ख़ुदा उनके दर्जे बुलन्द करेगा और ख़ुदा तुम्हारे सब कामों से बेख़बर है
Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanooo izaa naajitumur Rasoola faqaddimoo baina yadai najwaakum sadaqah; zaalika khairul lakum wa athar; fa il lam tajidoo fa innal laaha ghafoorur Raheem
O you who have believed, when you [wish to] privately consult the Messenger, present before your consultation a charity. That is better for you and purer. But if you find not [the means] - then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
اے ایمان والو جب تم رسول سے کوئی بات آہستہ عرض کرنا چاہو تو اپنی عرض سے پہلے کچھ صدقہ دے لو یہ تمہارے لیے بہت بہتر اور بہت ستھرا ہے، پھر اگر تمہیں مقدور نہ ہو تو اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے،
ऐ ईमानदारों जब पैग़म्बर से कोई बात कान में कहनी चाहो तो कुछ ख़ैरात अपनी सरगोशी से पहले दे दिया करो यही तुम्हारे वास्ते बेहतर और पाकीज़ा बात है पस अगर तुमको इसका मुक़दूर न हो तो बेशक ख़ुदा बड़ा बख्शने वाला मेहरबान है
'A-ashfaqtum an tuqaddimoo baina yadai najwaakum sadaqaat; fa-iz lam taf'aloo wa taabal laahu 'alaikum fa aqeemus Salaata wa aatuz Zakaata wa atee'ul laaha wa rasoolah; wallaahu khabeerum bimaa ta'maloon
Have you feared to present before your consultation charities? Then when you do not and Allah has forgiven you, then [at least] establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do.
کیا تم اس سے ڈرے کہ تم اپنی عرض سے پہلے کچھ صدقے دو پھر جب تم نے یہ نہ کیا، اور اللہ نے اپنی مہر سے تم پر رجوع فرمائی تو نماز قائم رکھو اور زکوٰة دو اور اللہ اور اس کے رسول کے فرمانبردار رہو، اور اللہ تمہارے کاموں کو جانتا ہے،
(मुसलमानों) क्या तुम इस बात से डर गए कि (रसूल के) कान में बात कहने से पहले ख़ैरात कर लो तो जब तुम लोग (इतना सा काम) न कर सके और ख़ुदा ने तुम्हें माफ़ कर दिया तो पाबन्दी से नमाज़ पढ़ो और ज़कात देते रहो और ख़ुदा उसके रसूल की इताअत करो और जो कुछ तुम करते हो ख़ुदा उससे बाख़बर है
Alam tara ilal lazeena tawallaw qawman ghadibal laahu 'alaihim maa hum minkum wa laa minhum wa yahlifoona 'alal kazibi wa hum ya'lamoon
Have you not considered those who make allies of a people with whom Allah has become angry? They are neither of you nor of them, and they swear to untruth while they know [they are lying].
کیا تم نے انہیں نہ دیکھا جو ایسوں کے دوست ہوئے جن پر اللہ کا غضب ہے وہ نہ تم میں سے نہ ان میں سے وہ دانستہ جھوٹی قسم کھاتے ہیں
क्या तुमने उन लोगों की हालत पर ग़ौर नहीं किया जो उन लोगों से दोस्ती करते हैं जिन पर ख़ुदा ने ग़ज़ब ढाया है तो अब वह न तुम मे हैं और न उनमें ये लोग जानबूझ कर झूठी बातो पर क़समें खाते हैं और वह जानते हैं
Yawma yab'asuhumul laahujamee'an fa yahlifoona lahoo kamaa yahlifoona lakum wa yahsaboona annahum 'alaa shai'; alaaa innahum humul kaaziboon
On the Day Allah will resurrect them all, and they will swear to Him as they swear to you and think that they are [standing] on something. Unquestionably, it is they who are the liars.
جس دن اللہ ان سب کو اٹھائے گا تو اس کے حضور بھی ایسے ہی قسمیں کھائیں گے جیسی تمہارے سامنے کھارہے ہیں اور وہ یہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ انہوں نے کچھ کیا سنتے ہو بیشک وہی جھوٹے ہیں
जिस दिन ख़ुदा उन सबको दोबार उठा खड़ा करेगा तो ये लोग जिस तरह तुम्हारे सामने क़समें खाते हैं उसी तरह उसके सामने भी क़समें खाएँगे और ख्याल करते हैं कि वह राहे सवाब पर हैं आगाह रहो ये लोग यक़ीनन झूठे हैं
Satan has overcome them and made them forget the remembrance of Allah. Those are the party of Satan. Unquestionably, the party of Satan - they will be the losers.
ان پر شیطان غالب آگیا تو انہیں اللہ کی یاد بھلا دی، وہ شیطان کے گروہ ہیں، سنتا ہے بیشک شیطان ہی کا گروہ ہار میں ہے
शैतान ने इन पर क़ाबू पा लिया है और ख़ुदा की याद उनसे भुला दी है ये लोग शैतान के गिरोह है सुन रखो कि शैतान का गिरोह घाटा उठाने वाला है
Laa tajidu qawmany yu'minoona billaahi wal yawmil aakhiri yuwaaaddoona man haaaddal laaha wa Rasoolahoo wa law kaanooo aabaaa'ahum aw abnaaa'ahum aw ikhwaa nahum aw 'asheeratahum; ulaaa'ika kataba fee quloobihi mul eemaana wa ayyadahum biroohimminhu wa yudkhilu hum jannatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa; radiyal laahu 'anhum wa radoo 'anh; ulaaa 'ika hizbul laah; alaaa inna hizbal laahi humul muflihoon
You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day having affection for those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even if they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred. Those - He has decreed within their hearts faith and supported them with spirit from Him. And We will admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him - those are the party of Allah. Unquestionably, the party of Allah - they are the successful.
تم نہ پاؤ گے ان لوگوں کو جو یقین رکھتے ہیں اللہ اور پچھلے دن پر کہ دوستی کریں ان سے جنہوں نے اللہ اور اس کے رسول سے مخالفت کی اگرچہ وہ ان کے باپ یا بیٹے یا بھائی یا کنبے والے ہوں یہ ہیں جن کے دلوں میں اللہ نے ایمان نقش فرمادیا اور اپنی طرف کی روح سے ان کی مدد کی اور انہیں باغوں میں لے جائے گا جن کے نیچے نہریں بہیں ان میں ہمیشہ رہیں، اللہ ان سے راضی اور وہ اللہ سے راضی یہ اللہ کی جماعت ہے، سنتا ہے اللہ ہی کی جماعت کامیاب ہے،
जो लोग ख़ुदा और रोज़े आख़ेरत पर ईमान रखते हैं तुम उनको ख़ुदा और उसके रसूल के दुश्मनों से दोस्ती करते हुए न देखोगे अगरचे वह उनके बाप या बेटे या भाई या ख़ानदान ही के लोग (क्यों न हों) यही वह लोग हैं जिनके दिलों में ख़ुदा ने ईमान को साबित कर दिया है और ख़ास अपने नूर से उनकी ताईद की है और उनको (बेहिश्त में) उन (हरे भरे) बाग़ों में दाखिल करेगा जिनके नीचे नहरे जारी है (और वह) हमेश उसमें रहेंगे ख़ुदा उनसे राज़ी और वह ख़ुदा से ख़ुश यही ख़ुदा का गिरोह है सुन रखो कि ख़ुदा के गिरोग के लोग दिली मुरादें पाएँगे
